GOAL Training
GOAL Training is a one-on-one physical activity coaching program for kids ages 7-15. Participants are paired up with an IU Kinesiology student who is completing their Fitness Specialist Practicum course. The IU student trainers will develop individualized activity plans for the kids based on their skills and interests and will meet weekly with them to lead them through games and activities to help develop physical activity skills and confidence.
GOAL Training takes place on Wednesday nights at the Banneker Community Center in Bloomington from 6:30-7:30pm. All kids and their trainers meet together in the Banneker gym but work one-on-one together moving through different activities and stations. GOAL Training lasts 5 weeks and we offer two different rotations throughout the semester. The program is offered in both fall and spring semesters.
Registration is currently closed for our Spring 2026 program, but we will be back in the fall. The number of available spots in this program is dependent on the IU class enrollment each semester so please reach out if you’d like to save a spot for fall and be notified of the program schedule as soon as it is available!
If you have any questions or would like to register your child for this program, please reach out to the GOAL Program Manager, Cheryl Kilmark, at ckilmark@iu.edu or 812-856-5004.

-IU Student Coach
“My client has made a lot of progress from the first week, especially with upper body strength and technique among a lot of the exercises. She has gotten more confident knowing what she can and can’t do with her body, and when It’s time to take breaks.”
