Our Approach

Get Onboard Active Living (GOAL) seeks to provide education and coaching to families in the areas of nutrition and physical activity so they can make healthy choices that make the most sense for them! We are not here to lecture you on how to eat and exercise; we want to listen and understand your family so we can provide support in helping you make the changes YOU want to make! While we have a wealth of knowledge about nutrition and physical activity, you are the expert on your own family and know what will and won’t work for you. We’re happy to provide information, answer questions, and offer coaching and support along the way, but everything is centered around you and your individual family.

We believe, above all, in balance! Our dietitians love the phrase, “The only bad foods are those that are rotten.” All foods have a place in a healthy, balanced diet and we emphasize this in all of our education and programming. Food is fuel for our body; there is no judgement on good or bad. Food can also simply make us happy - that’s a positive thing for our mental and social health, which matter just as much as our physical health! We always want to emphasize balance and moderation and help your family cultivate a positive relationship with food (and yourselves!).

Our programs are open to everyone, regardless of weight, health status, income, education level, family structure, etc. We believe everyone deserves to have access to good quality information about their health and caring people who can support them along the way.
